About The Position

Altabank, Division of Glacier Bank, is hiring a Full-Time Loan Assistant for our St George branch. The role is to assist in facilitating the loan process by interacting with customers, lending partners, and the bank loan team in an efficient, professional, and helpful manner. This includes providing administrative functions to support the loan officer and team, communicating with customers and prospects to reduce friction in the loan production and portfolio management processes, and assisting in collecting, filing, and organizing customer financials and information. The Loan Assistant will interact with business owners and other professionals in person, by email, and telephone, and work with other departments in the bank to help with loan production, documentation, and portfolio management. Responsibilities also include composing letters and memoranda, editing written communications, collecting and preparing information for discussions and meetings with internal and external loan clients, and taking meeting minutes in loan team meetings. The role requires compliance with applicable laws and regulations, including the Bank Secrecy Act, the Patriot Act, and the Office of Foreign Assets Control, and completion of required bank training courses within assigned time frames. The position also involves adhering to Altabank Core Values, keeping management informed of area activities and problems, participating in community service and bank-sponsored activities, and providing superior internal and external customer service. The employee must represent Altabank professionally, maintaining a professional image, confidentiality, a positive attitude, good attendance, punctuality, flexibility, and adaptability. The work area must be kept tidy, customer privacy maintained, and meetings attended as required. Regular and predictable attendance is essential, including in-person contact with customers. Other duties as assigned may arise, and duties can change.

Requirements

  • One year to two years of similar or related experience.
  • A high school education or GED.
  • Reasonable understanding of a bank and the loan process.
  • Strong computer skills in Word processing and Excel spreadsheets.
  • High interpersonal skills, strong verbal communication and customer service skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to multi-task.
  • Capable of interacting calmly and professionally with a variety of people from diverse backgrounds at various levels within and outside of the organization.
  • Capable of regular, reliable, and timely attendance.
  • Ability to adapt to change (e.g. shifting priorities, demands, and timelines) through time management, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators.
  • Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary.
  • Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance.
  • Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.
  • Close visual acuity to perform activities such as preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.

Responsibilities
