About The Position

Frontline employees with considerable customer contact, Loan Assistants work closely with loan applicants to gather information and aid in the application process. They are also responsible for reviewing loan documents to ensure accuracy and completeness, as well as managing the necessary transactions to close the loan. This includes ensuring all necessary loan-related compliance documentation is properly executed and filed. Furthermore, the role participates in the sales culture of the institution and is expected to make appropriate referrals and cross-sell products and services to meet customers’ needs.

Responsibilities

  • Assist the Supervising Loan Officer by engaging with applicants to collect financial data and ensuring all application components are accurately completed as directed.
  • Verify and examine information and accuracy of loan application and closing documents.
  • Order title certificates through legal services, and appraisals of properties.
  • Assemble and compile documents for loan closings, such as title abstracts, insurance forms, and tax receipts.
  • Complete transactions necessary to fund the loan.
  • File compliance documents when required.
  • Record applications for loan and credit, loan information, and disbursements of funds.
  • Answer questions and advise customers regarding loans and transactions.
  • Contact customers by mail, telephone, or in person concerning acceptance or rejection of applications.
  • Identify customers’ needs and propose the appropriate products and/or services.
  • Close the sale of products/services or refer customers to appropriate bank personnel to meet their financial needs.
