About The Position

The Loader facilitates staging, loading, and material handling to prepare steel fabrication products for shipment. The role prioritizes safety and quality, including the safety of the employee, fellow dock workers, and receiving parties. The employee scans all products loaded onto trucks, reports safety or quality concerns immediately to a supervisor or plant manager, and loads and unloads trucks and trailers.

The schedule is 6:00 AM–4:30 PM, Monday through Friday, with occasional Saturdays. Starting pay is $16.25 per hour, with potential increases based on experience and skill. The position is based at 151 Judge Don Lewis Blvd, Elizabethton, TN 37643.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• At least one year of related work experience in manufacturing or a comparable work environment.
• At least one year of forklift operation experience.
• Comfort and familiarity with power hand tools.
• Willingness to train, become certified, and operate a forklift and overhead crane.
• Ability to work effectively to meet deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively within a team environment.
• General mathematical knowledge and proficiency with basic measuring instruments.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Stage, load, and handle materials to prepare steel fabrication products for shipment.
• Scan 100% of products loaded into trucks.
• Report safety or quality concerns immediately to the Supervisor or Plant Manager.
• Unload and load trucks and trailers.
• Perform duties with safety and quality as top priorities.
