Loader Operator - Morehead City, NC
About The Position
S&W Ready Mix Concrete, a subsidiary of Titan America LLC, is seeking a Loader Operator for its Morehead City, NC location. This role is responsible for operating a front-end loader to load material from stockpiles, performing routine maintenance on equipment such as oiling and greasing, and making minor operational adjustments. The position also involves assisting with plant and yard housekeeping, including shoveling, washing, and minor repairs. The Loader Operator will participate in various aspects of the plant's daily operations, including operations, maintenance, production, shipping, inventory control, and safety. The primary goal is the safe and efficient production of ready-mix concrete.
Requirements
- Good written and oral communication skills
- Good computer skills
- Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision
- Basic understanding of concrete characteristics and production
- Ability to travel within the delivery area to other plant locations
- Valid CDL preferred
- Previous experience and knowledge of safe operation of heavy equipment
- Knowledge of proper material handling practices
- Ability to pass pre-employment processes including criminal background check, physical and drug screen
Nice To Haves
- Previous supervisory experience preferred
- Previous experience in ready-mix industry preferred
Responsibilities
- Load material from stockpiles
- Oil, grease, service, and make normal operating adjustments to equipment
- Maintain plant in excellent condition, mechanically and esthetically, including loaders and mixers
- Maintain the yard, including under tail pulleys and wash racks
- Perform housekeeping duties such as shoveling, washing, and minor repairs
- Ensure the safe, efficient production of ready-mix concrete using an automated computerized batching system
- Maintain a consistent batching sequence and monitor scale and gate accuracy
- Ensure all products produced meet or exceed customers’ expectations regarding quality and service
- Ensure deliveries are made promptly, safely, and efficiently
- Assist with monthly inventory
- Assist the maintenance team with plant repairs as needed
