About The Position

Heidelberg Materials is one of the world's largest suppliers of building materials. Heidelberg Materials North America operates over 450 locations across the U.S. and Canada with approximately 9,000 employees. This role operates primarily in environments where the conditions include moving mechanical equipment, inclement weather, heat, cold, humidity, and elevated noise level. Plant moves across Southern Alberta and moves every 3-4 months. LOA and Accommodations are provided when plant is more than 1 hour away from Calgary cooperate limits. This position is part of a unionized environment. Terms and conditions of employment, including wages, benefits, and work schedules, are governed by the applicable collective agreement.

Requirements

Proficient in operating heavy equipment with strong situational awareness.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, team-focused environment.
Strong commitment to safety and adherence to operating procedures.
Capable of performing basic equipment checks and reporting issues promptly.
Reliable, adaptable, and able to work in various outdoor conditions.
Must be 18 years of age or older.
Successful candidate must submit to post-offer pre-employment physical examination and background check.
Verification of age will be required as a condition of employment.

Responsibilities

Safely operate a skid-steer, telehandler, front-end loader and excavator to support production and material handling.
Assist in day to day maintenance tasks on a mobile crushing plant, including plant break downs, setups and moves.
Conduct routine equipment inspections and perform basic maintenance.
Load materials efficiently to meet production and quality targets.
Communicate effectively with team members while following all safety protocols to maintain a safe working environment.
