About The Position

S&W Ready Mix Concrete, a subsidiary of Titan America LLC, is seeking a Loader Operator for its Wilmington, NC location. This role is crucial for the safe and efficient production of ready-mix concrete. The Loader Operator will be responsible for operating a front-end loader to move material from stockpiles, perform routine maintenance on equipment such as oiling and greasing, and assist with plant and yard housekeeping. This position may also involve participating in all aspects of the daily plant operations, including maintenance, production, shipping, inventory control, and safety. The job duties are not exhaustive and may be supplemented as needed.

Requirements

Good written and oral communication skills
Good computer skills
Ability to perform job functions with minimal supervision
Basic understanding of concrete characteristics and production
Ability to pass pre-employment processes including criminal background check, physical and drug screen
Knowledge of proper material handling practices
Valid CDL preferred
Previous experience and knowledge of safe operation of heavy equipment

Nice To Haves

Previous supervisory experience preferred
Ability to supervise multiple employees
Ability to travel between sites as needed
Previous experience in ready-mix industry preferred

Responsibilities

Load material from stockpiles
Oil, grease, service, and make normal operating adjustments to equipment
Maintain plant in excellent condition, mechanically and aesthetically, including loaders and mixers
Maintain the yard, including under tail pulleys and wash racks
Perform housekeeping duties including shoveling, washing, and minor repairs
Responsible for the safe, efficient production of ready-mix concrete using an automated computerized batching system
Maintain a consistent batching sequence and monitor scale and gate accuracy
Ensure all products produced meet or exceed customers’ expectations regarding quality and service
Ensure deliveries are made promptly, safely, and efficiently
Assist with monthly inventory
Assist maintenance team with plant repairs as needed
