About The Position

Rogers Group, Inc. is seeking a Loader Operator for its Augusta Asphalt Plant in Staunton, Virginia. The role primarily operates a mid-to-large wheeled loader around the plant to load aggregate products into bins for asphalt production. The operator may also use other heavy equipment as production needs require and as directed by the plant manager or foreman. Additional duties include supporting and cleaning up around the asphalt plant, general maintenance of the plant and equipment, and other general labor tasks as needed. This is a full-time, day-shift position, with some weekend and night work as needed. Starting wages are $21.00 per hour, depending on experience.

Requirements

• At least one year of experience operating a mid-to-large wheeled front-end loader, such as a CAT 980, CAT 988, or Komatsu WA500-8.
• Uncompromising focus on safety excellence.
• Ability to perform general labor, maintenance, and clean-up duties around the asphalt plant.
• Ability to work independently without constant supervision.
• Ability to learn new tasks quickly.
• Flexibility to work overtime and weekends when necessary.
• Pass a pre-employment drug screen.
• Provide valid documentation for the I-9 Immigration requirement.

Nice To Haves

• Experience operating other heavy equipment, such as a track hoe, back hoe, and skid steer.
• Experience working around an asphalt plant.

Responsibilities

• Operate a wheeled loader around the plant to load aggregate products into bins for asphalt production.
• Operate other pieces of heavy equipment as production needs require and at the discretion of the plant manager and foreman.
• Support and perform clean-up around the asphalt plant.
• Perform general maintenance of the plant and equipment.
• Perform general labor tasks as needed.
