About The Position

E.W. Wylie, a prominent transportation and logistics provider with over 85 years in business and a member of TFI International, is seeking a career-oriented Load Securement Specialist for its Spring Hill, KS glass and general freight operations. This role is crucial for ensuring loads are safely and properly secured before transport. The specialist will work directly with drivers during live loads, prepare and secure preloads, and adhere to all company and customer safety policies. The position demands strong communication skills, mechanical awareness, emotional intelligence, and the ability to perform efficiently under time pressure while maintaining safety and accuracy. Success hinges on attention to detail, consistency, and fostering positive relationships with staff and customers.

Requirements

  • A High School Diploma, or equivalent.
  • At least one (1) year of experience in glass loading and securement.
  • Demonstrates knowledge of glass equipment, its operation, and required loading techniques.
  • Reads and interprets loadout sheets accurately to determine securement needs.
  • Uses proper techniques to secure glass safely and in alignment with customer and company standards.
  • Performs physical tasks including lifting up to 75 pounds and completing frequent movement activities.
  • Possess a current Class A commercial driver license.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior experience in high-volume glass operations or specialized securement environments.
  • Familiarity with securement equipment, tools, and preparation of load protection materials.
  • Experience working directly with customers in operational or logistics settings.

Responsibilities

  • Properly secures glass freight using approved methods to ensure safe and effective transport.
  • Works directly with inbound drivers during live loading to ensure proper loading, securement, and communication.
  • Maintains clear communication with customers, drivers, and internal departments to support smooth operations.
  • Reports loading, equipment, and material concerns to the Lead Load Securement Specialist or Supervisor.
  • Utilizes interpersonal skills and professionalism to resolve problems tactfully and maintain positive relationships.
  • Performs required duties efficiently under frequent time pressures to meet operational schedules.
  • Completes other responsibilities as assigned by the Lead Load Securement Specialist or Supervisor.
