About The Position

The Load Planner coordinates operations for a portion of PCA’s trucking fleet within a designated area or customer group. The position provides customer service and handles day-to-day customer inquiries, demands, and requirements to maintain a steady flow of freight. The Load Planner is the point of contact for customer shipping requirements, rate compliance, order entry, and truck and driver preplanning, and coordinates with other departments to support customer satisfaction.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of experience in the transportation field.
• Knowledge of transportation industry laws, safety regulations, and general trucking basics.
• PC skills, including Excel, Word, and Outlook.
• Strong communication skills.
• Time-management and analytical skills.
• Negotiation and decision-making skills.

Nice To Haves

• Transportation or business-related bachelor's degree.
• Experience with the TMW dispatch system and Omnitracs satellites.
• Dispatcher experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage designated customer accounts and revenue while coordinating traffic flows, freight allocations, rate quotes, and delivery and pickup schedules.
• Ensure accurate electronic order entry, communicate effectively with drivers, and resolve conflicts.
• Preplan trucks and drivers, maximizing equipment utilization while meeting customer shipping requirements.
• Review and analyze financial reports and take corrective action.
• Generate and communicate freight rates.
• Assist other load planners, departments, and management in supporting PCA’s customer service efforts.
• Remain available by cell phone at all hours; a company phone is provided.
