About The Position

The Load Planner optimizes freight transportation by matching loads with available trucks, drivers, and trailers to maximize efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure on-time delivery. They analyze routes, utilize Transportation Management Systems (TMS), manage driver schedules, and act as a key liaison between customers and dispatchers to optimize capacity.

Requirements

• Previous experience in logistics, dispatching, or transportation.
• Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Transportation Management Systems (TMS).
• Excellent interpersonal skills to communicate with internal and external stakeholders.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and make quick, efficient decisions.
• Organization, attention to detail, communication, time management, problem-solving, computer proficiency (WMS, Excel, Outlook).
• High school diploma or equivalent required.

Responsibilities

• Utilize TMS software to schedule and optimize shipments, ensuring loads meet weight, volume, and safety requirements.
• Coordinate daily, matching available tractors and trailers with customer cargo.
• Assign loads to drivers, maintaining communication to ensure on-time pickups and deliveries.
• Liaise with customers to solicit business, provide updates, and resolve service issues.
• Research and troubleshoot operational bottlenecks, such as detention times or route delays, to improve efficiency.
• Other duties as assigned.
