About The Position

The Load Former is a piece of equipment set up by the Stacker Operator to ensure finished bundles of corrugated sheets are stacked accurately and uniformly for the unitizer. The operator sets the bundler and delivery end according to the production run.

Requirements

  • HS Diploma or GED
  • Pass background check, drug screen, and physical
  • Able to read and follow instructions on factory masters.
  • Able to read a tape measure with speed and accuracy.
  • Able to calculate figures and amounts such as percentages, measurement, volume and rate.
  • Able to apply concepts of high school math.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or graphic form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving one or more concrete variables in standardized situations.
  • Working knowledge of equipment design and capabilities that can be translated into efficient operation.
  • Working knowledge of product layouts and production specifications
  • Working knowledge of product quality specifications
  • Working knowledge of quality standards
  • Stand, walk, and talk or hear.
  • Use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Occasionally sit.
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts.
  • Frequently exposed to wet and/or humid conditions.
  • Occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; and vibration.
  • The noise level in the work environment is usually loud.
  • Repetitive twisting while moving and stacking boxes.

Nice To Haves

  • Prior work experience in the corrugated industry.
  • 6 months’ experience as a Bundler.

Responsibilities

  • Follow all company safety guidelines.
  • Ability to read production sheets
  • Quickly identify a quality defect and communicate immediately to machine operators.
  • Quality checks using micrometer, tape measure, etc.
  • Able to read a tape measure up to 1/16” variance
  • All units have an accurate load tag and the appearance meets plant’s requirements
  • Basic Computer Skills (Data Entry)
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to add, subtract, & multiply
  • Able to work extended work hours and weekends, as needed
  • Self-motivated
  • Able to work in varying temperatures
  • Professional Attitude & conduct
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned
