About The Position

Basalite Building Products, LLC is one of the largest manufacturers of concrete masonry products in the Western United States. The Load Checker/Gate Guard position is responsible for checking the loads of inbound and outbound trucks for accuracy and maintaining a list of vehicles in the yard. The selected candidate will be subject to a pre-employment drug screen and background check. This is a regular, full-time position.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Requires basic math, reading and writing skills.
Basic computer skills
On-the-job training experience is required to be able to perform duties.
Ability to operate a forklift and any other equipment required to perform duties.
Requires basic reading and writing skills.
Basic mathematics and counting is required.
Ability to follow oral and written instructions.
Must be able to communicate in a professional manner with peers, superiors and customers.
Working knowledge of plant inventory.
Must be able to work overtime when required.
Predictable and regular attendance is required.

Responsibilities

Counts and verifies all products on inbound and outbound trucks.
Maintains an accurate list of all vehicles in yard.
Maintains a line of communication between dispatch and yard personnel.
Maintains a proper number of trucks in each area of the yard.
Prioritizes trucks by status, (i.e. will calls, store loads, etc.) with careful attention to delivery times and locations.
Checks and signs all necessary paperwork and ensures that all load counts are accurate.
Stops and checks all vehicles / persons entering and exiting the plant, making sure that no product leaves without proper paperwork.
Checks accuracy of credit tags on all returned product, directing returned product to assigned holding area.
Attends safety meetings and abides by all safety rules set forth by company and governmental regulatory agencies; ensures that hazardous conditions are reported and corrected.
