About The Position

Great Livin' in Albuquerque, NM is actively seeking a reliable full-time or part-time Living Support / Direct Support Professional (DSP) to support our residential clients with disabilities in leading self-directed, independent, meaningful lives. Great Livin' LLC was founded in 2008 and is dedicated and passionate about the well-being of people living with intellectual disabilities. The company has eight supported-living homes where staff love their residents and help them live their best lives. Staff assist residents in learning life skills and building relationships by evaluating specific individual needs and suggesting strategies, services, and supports to optimize individual functioning. Team members are expected to be quick thinking, responsible, and excellent problem solvers, bringing ideas and good energy to the residents' world. Requirements

  • 18 years of age
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Ability to pass a fingerprint and background check (Provided by the company)
  • Complete a TB Test (Provided by the company)

Responsibilities

  • Support adults with developmental disabilities who receive DD Waiver (DDW) services to live their best lives as independently as possible
  • Provide support and guidance in assisted living homes and programs
  • Assist in many areas of daily living including bathing, hygiene, shopping, meal preparation, transportation, and housekeeping
  • Model appropriate social skills and behaviors
  • Work with participants to learn new skills and achieve goals using effective teaching and mentoring techniques
  • Help participants get better access to the community by assisting them with educational and recreational activities
  • Keep accurate and up-to-date documentation
  • Promptly report any concerns about residents' health or safety
