About The Position

This position involves working with livestock (hogs) and includes responsibilities such as driving, sorting, weighing, tattooing, marking, and penning livestock. The role also requires maintaining accurate inventories and headcounts, performing light building maintenance and showcase duties when not working with livestock, and moving hogs safely and effectively with minimal stress to the animals, following all humane handling guidelines. All Tyson Team Members are responsible for personal and food safety.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • 1 year of prior experience handling and working with livestock in loading/unloading operations preferred.
  • Experience with skid loaders operation preferred.
  • Experience in livestock handling within the meat industry and knowledge of humane animal handling procedures preferred.
  • Basic computer knowledge preferred.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to communicate in stressful situations with all levels (hourly employees to upper management) and government officials.
  • Ability to lift 70+ pounds unassisted.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods (8–10 hours, excluding breaks).
  • Strong observation skills and conscientiousness about animal treatment.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must be available to work extended hours as required by management.

Responsibilities

  • Moving hogs safely and effectively with minimal stress to the animals, following all humane handling guidelines.
  • Performing other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
