About The Position

Our incredible Livestock Caretaker plays a vital role in creating unforgettable experiences for guests by ensuring the well-being of the animals at our Petting Farm. This hands-on position involves caring for a variety of livestock while engaging with guests to provide an educational and enjoyable experience.

Requirements

Must be at least 18 and have a valid driver’s license to drive company golf carts
Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
Required to pass a background check, drug test, and prove eligibility to work in the United States

Responsibilities

Completing the daily opening and closing procedures of the Petting Farm
Taking care of all animals at the petting farm
Daily cleaning of all animal pens
Twice daily feeding and watering of all animals at petting farm
Ability to identify injured or sick animals and report to Livestock Manager
Performing pony rides daily for resort guests
Interacting with resort guests, teaching them about the animals and the petting farm procedures
Responsible for enforcing safety rules and procedures with resort guests
Interacting with, handling, brushing, leading all animals at petting farm
Responsible for keeping work and guest areas neat and clean
Help with inventory of food and livestock
Loading and unloading 50lb bags of feed and hay bales for animals
Knowledge of livestock, and ability to work well with others, as well as independently
Enthusiasm, energy, drive, job devotion, and personal ambition
Participating in certain special events
