About The Position

At Hormel Foods, the Livehaul Mechanic is a full-time, hourly position with day shift hours from 7:30 am to 4:30 pm, with overtime as necessary. The base pay for this role ranges between $27.00 - $38.00 per hour, determined by factors such as job-related knowledge, skill set, experience, and geographic location. Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States without employer sponsorship for a work visa and must be 18 years of age or older.

Requirements

• Have strong mechanical abilities.
• Have good basic math skills.
• Have above average reading and writing skills.
• Able to lift/carry 50 lbs.
• Able to work in a cold, wet, humid, hot and/or dusty environment.
• Able to work with heights and in confined spaces.
• Must be able to pass a lung function test to be certified to wear a self-contained breathing apparatus or gas mask which requires no facial hair in areas where the face mask seals against the face.
• Able to be on-call every other week.
• Must possess a current Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with no restrictions & current DOT medical exam certificate.

Responsibilities

• Maintain and repair Live Haul equipment.
• Move equipment to farms and repair shop.
• Do shop and equipment safety inspections.
• Assist others in shop when needed.
• Maintain and clean shop area.
• Maintain accurate inventory.
• Other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
