About The Position

Bargain Lane is launching Bargain Lane Live, its Whatnot channel, and is seeking a dedicated, full-time Live Show Host. This role is responsible for anchoring weekday live shows from their Fort Wayne warehouse. The ideal candidate will be energetic, engaging, and skilled at moving product and driving bids during live auctions. This is a fast-paced, high-energy role focused on live selling, similar to QVC or an auctioneer, rather than content creation.

Requirements

Ability to talk and hold an audience's attention on camera for an entire show without fading.
Ability to perform under pressure, handling slow bids, dead chat, and awkward silences by leaning in.
Demonstrated ability to sell items, not just describe them.
Skill in quickly reading a crowd and understanding audience preferences.
Retail or customer-facing background (e.g., cashier, server, sales floor, barista).
Ability to take feedback constructively and improve performance.
Willingness to be trained on the Whatnot platform.

Nice To Haves

Prior Whatnot experience.
Experience selling live on platforms like TikTok or Instagram.
Experience running a personal resale channel.

Responsibilities

Host live Whatnot shows, describing items quickly, opening bids, engaging with chat participants by name, celebrating wins, and maintaining high energy throughout the show.
Work alongside a show assistant who manages inventory flow behind the scenes.
Stay focused on camera for the entire show duration (3.5 hours), handling over 250 items per show.
Maintain a relentless auction cadence and ensure energy levels never drop.
Adapt to audience engagement and pivot based on what the live audience wants.
Participate in post-show debriefs and be receptive to feedback for improvement.
