About The Position

Bargain Lane is launching Bargain Lane Live, a new Whatnot channel, and is seeking a dedicated individual to anchor its weekday operation. This role involves hosting live shows from retail locations, selling products, and engaging viewers to drive bids. The ideal candidate will be energetic, persuasive, and able to maintain a fast-paced, high-energy environment. This is a live selling role, similar to QVC or an auctioneer, focused on results and driven by numbers.

Requirements

Ability to command a room on camera for an entire show without fading.
Ability to perform under pressure, handling slow bids, dead chat, and awkward silence.
Strong sales ability, instinctively knowing how to sell items rather than just describe them.
Ability to quickly read a crowd and adapt to audience preferences.
Retail or customer-facing background (e.g., cashier, server, sales floor, barista).
Willingness to take feedback and improve performance.
Flexibility to work any day of the week, as the role runs 4:00 PM – 8:00 PM.

Nice To Haves

Prior Whatnot experience.
Experience selling live on platforms like TikTok or Instagram.
Experience running a personal resale channel.

Responsibilities

Host live Whatnot shows, describing items, opening bids, and engaging with the chat.
Maintain high energy and a relentless pace throughout 3.5-hour shows, selling over 250 items per show.
Celebrate viewer wins and keep the audience engaged.
Work alongside a show assistant who handles inventory flow.
Participate in show debriefs and incorporate feedback to improve performance.
