About The Position

Bargain Lane is launching Bargain Lane Live, our Whatnot channel, and we are seeking a dedicated, full-time Live Show Host to anchor our weekday operation. This role is responsible for hosting live Whatnot shows, moving product, commanding the room, and engaging viewers to drive bids. The energy is real, the pace is relentless, and the results show up in the numbers every single show. This is live selling, focused on driving sales through energetic and engaging presentations.

Requirements

Ability to talk and hold a room on camera for an entire show without fading.
Ability to perform under pressure, leaning into challenges like slow bids, dead chat, or awkward silence.
Demonstrated ability to sell items, not just describe them.
Ability to quickly read a crowd and pivot the presentation.
Retail or customer-facing background (e.g., cashier, server, sales floor, barista).
Ability to take feedback and improve performance.
Willingness to be trained on the Whatnot platform.

Nice To Haves

Prior Whatnot experience.
Experience selling live on platforms like TikTok, Instagram, or other resale channels.

Responsibilities

Host live Whatnot shows alongside a show assistant who handles inventory flow.
Stay locked on camera for the full show, describing items quickly, opening bids, and engaging the chat by name.
Celebrate viewer wins and maintain high energy levels throughout the show.
Describe items and sell them effectively to drive bids.
Read the live audience quickly and pivot the presentation to meet their interests.
Participate in post-show debriefs and be receptive to feedback for improvement.
