About The Position

At Pilgrim’s, Safety Is A Condition, which means the safety of our team members comes first - always. Pilgrim’s is seeking a Live Operations Coordinator to keep inventory of Feed Mill ingredients. This role oversees daily department operations and drives process improvements. It coordinates live bird handling activities, including unloading, drawer movement, and live hang, ensuring humane treatment and compliance with animal welfare standards. The position also oversees equipment and crew rotation within live receiving tasks (e.g., forklift operation, finishing machine support) to maintain workflow efficiency and minimize downtime. It promotes open communication and supports a positive work environment, manages scheduling of people, materials, and equipment to meet production needs, and conducts performance evaluations, ensuring consistent feedback across the team. The role maintains high standards in safety, yield, efficiency, and quality while supporting departmental goals and budgets, and takes on additional responsibilities as needed to support the Plant Operations Team.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • Class A CDL preferred or ability to obtain within 6 months.
  • Valid Pilgrim’s Pallet jack license or ability to obtain license within 30 days.
  • 1 or more years of previous supervisory experience with leadership skills of 20+ employees preferred.
  • Effective communication both orally and in writing
  • Capable of independent decision making
  • Must have basic computer knowledge
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Good math skills
  • Basic mechanical knowledge.

Nice To Haves

  • College Degree in related field preferred.
  • Poultry or food industry experience is a plus.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
