About The Position

McKenney Home Care is seeking an experienced caregiver, HHA, or CNA for a long-term live-in private-duty assignment supporting a male client with advanced Alzheimer’s disease. This assignment requires a male caregiver because of the client’s documented care and behavioral needs. The caregiver should be patient and able to provide reassurance, redirection, observation, familiar routines, and a calm environment as routines and locations change. The assignment involves extensive domestic and international travel with the client and family, including travel aboard the family’s private aircraft. The anticipated schedule may include approximately 6–7 months per year in Naples, Florida; 3–4 months per year in California; additional domestic travel, including Boston; and international travel throughout the year. Scheduling is primarily Monday–Friday live-in, with some Tuesday–Saturday weeks or changes based on travel needs. A valid passport and flexibility with travel dates, schedules, and locations are required. McKenney Home Care is a family-owned private-duty home care agency serving Lee and Collier County through its Bonita Springs office. Qualified candidates will participate in an additional client-matching process and, if selected, meet with the client’s wife and a McKenney Home Care team member before final placement.

Requirements

Male caregiver required for this specific assignment based on the client’s documented care and behavioral needs.
Previous professional live-in caregiving experience.
Previous hands-on dementia or Alzheimer’s caregiving experience.
HHA certificate, Florida CNA license, or strong professional caregiving background.
Valid passport and ability to travel domestically and internationally.
Valid driver’s license.
Current auto insurance listing the caregiver as an allowed driver.
Reliable transportation.
Hands-on CPR certification; online-only CPR is not accepted.
TB screening within the required timeframe or qualifying chest X-ray.
Level 2 AHCA background screening.
Dependable attendance, strong communication, professionalism, discretion, and flexibility.

Responsibilities

Provide dementia and Alzheimer’s support.
Offer companionship and meaningful engagement.
Use redirection, reassurance, and familiar routines.
Assist with bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, and other activities of daily living.
Support mobility and transfers, and help prevent falls and maintain safety.
Prepare meals, encourage hydration, and perform light housekeeping and laundry.
Provide medication reminders as permitted by the care plan.
Observe and report changes in the client’s condition or behavior.
Travel domestically and internationally with the client and family.
Communicate with the family and McKenney Home Care team.
