About The Position

Visiting Angels Springfield is seeking compassionate caregivers to support senior adults and others in need across Central Illinois. The role includes helping clients with daily living activities, providing companionship, and assisting with tasks that help them remain safe and comfortable. The Springfield office serves Sangamon, Menard, Morgan, Logan, and other counties. The position offers varied shifts from 1 to 12 hours, with full-time, part-time, PRN, weekday, night, and weekend options. Caregivers can make their own schedules. The employer provides client and caregiver introductions, paid orientation, ongoing training opportunities, and support from the office team. Advanced training may be available in areas such as dementia and Alzheimer’s care.

Requirements

Passion for serving others and providing compassionate care.
Excellent knowledge of emergency response and first aid.
Knowledge of housekeeping activities and cooking, with attention to dietary constraints.
Willingness to adhere to health and safety standards.

High school diploma or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Help clients take prescribed medication.
Assist clients with ambulation and mobility at home and outside, including to appointments and on walks.
Assist clients with personal care and hygiene.
Help clients with routine exercises.
Plan and prepare meals with clients’ assistance when possible, observing dietary constraints.
Shop for clients or accompany them while shopping.
Perform light housekeeping tasks clients cannot complete on their own.
Provide pleasant and supportive companionship.
Report unusual incidents.
Respond quickly and responsibly to emergencies.
Support clients with daily living responsibilities, including transportation.
