About The Position

This position provides round-the-clock care over an extended period to develop rapport and support the client's needs. The role involves providing personal hygiene and grooming, housekeeping, meal preparation, laundry, shopping, errands, assisting with therapy exercises, transporting clients to appointments, and offering socialization and companionship. It also includes observing and maintaining a safe home environment and following universal precautions. Communication and documentation are key, including reporting changes in client condition, completing tasks in a journal, and utilizing scheduling software for timekeeping and communication. The caregiver must also review company email for updates and attend mandatory in-services and office appointments.

Requirements

  • One year of personal care experience at an agency or facility
  • Two years of continuous work experience
  • All applicants must live in CT.

Responsibilities

  • Provides personal hygiene and grooming care to clients
  • Performs routine housekeeping and home management duties
  • Plans and prepares meals for clients’ nutritional needs
  • Performs laundry, shopping, and errands for client
  • Assists with routine therapy exercises
  • Transports and accompanies clients to scheduled appointments
  • Provides client socialization and companionship
  • Observation and maintenance of a safe home environment
  • Follows universal precautions
  • Provides round the clock care over an extended period of time to develop report and support the client’s needs
  • Reports changes in clients’ condition to the supervisor
  • Exhibits effective interpersonal skills interacting with clients, family members and other staff
  • Completes and documents tasks in journal as assigned in the care plan
  • Consistently utilizes the scheduling software application for timekeeping, documenting and communication with office
  • Periodically reviews company email for policy updates and communication from supervisors
  • Follows all policies and procedures including minimum work requirement of 8 hours per month
  • Attends all mandatory in-services and scheduled office appointments
  • Acts as preceptor for newly hired employees
  • Participates in family meetings as requested
  • Performs other duties as assigned
