LIVE IN CAREGIVER
About The Position
Griswold Home Care is hiring experienced, dependable caregivers for Live-In Caregiver opportunities throughout Garner and the surrounding areas. A live-in position may be a great fit for you if you are an experienced caregiver who enjoys building a strong relationship with one client and providing consistent, one-on-one care. Our live-in caregivers stay in the client’s home during their assignment and provide assistance with the client’s daily needs, personal care, mobility, meals, companionship, and household routines based on the client’s individualized care plan. Live-in care is different from a traditional hourly caregiving shift. Live-in caregivers reside in the client’s home for the duration of the assignment and must be comfortable being away from their own home while providing care and support throughout the day and overnight. This position is best suited for someone who enjoys providing consistent care to one client and is comfortable with the responsibilities of a live-in caregiving arrangement.
Requirements
- Previous hands-on caregiving experience
- Experience with personal care and activities of daily living
- Comfortable providing hands-on personal care
- At least 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED
- Current TB test or willingness to obtain one
- Valid driver’s license
- Reliable transportation and current auto insurance
- Able to pass required background screening
- Dependable, compassionate, professional, and safety-focused
- Able to safely perform the physical responsibilities of the position
- Strong communication skills
- Comfortable staying in a client’s home for the duration of a live-in assignment
Responsibilities
- Provide assistance with the client’s daily needs, personal care, mobility, meals, companionship, and household routines based on the client’s individualized care plan.
- Assisting with personal care, bathing, dressing, toileting, mobility, transfers, repositioning, and Hoyer/mechanical lifts.
- Preparing meals.
- Providing medication reminders.
- Companionship.
- Supervision.
- Light housekeeping.
- Assisting with the client’s daily routines and overnight needs.
- Following the client’s care plan.
- Maintaining professional boundaries.
- Respecting the client’s privacy, home, belongings, and routines.
