-Live-In Caregiver
About The Position
We are looking for caregivers willing to live with and help care for clients (mainly fragile, ill, disabled, and/or elderly) in their homes for extended periods of time (weeks, months, sometimes even years). Our caregivers are ACTUAL EMPLOYEES of our company and not just contract workers. This means we pay all taxes and our caregivers are guaranteed the protections that go along with being an employee of a company versus being self-employed. We are a locally owned and operated home care agency with one owner, one office & the same set of schedulers. Requirements
- 18 years or age or older
- Ability to pas a criminal background check
- Good interpersonal skills
- Available to live with the client for days, to months, at a time
- Ability to read, write and speak in English
- Reliability: Professionalism and discipline to arrive to clients' homes, on time, every time
Nice To Haves
- Valid driver's license
- Comfortable with pets
- Covid-19 vaccination
- Prior experience in a healthcare, hospitality, or in-home care environment
- Hoyer lift experience
Responsibilities
- Provide personal care and hygiene assistance, such as showering, bathing, toileting, and dressing
- Remind clients to take prescribed medication and assist them with monitoring vitals
- Help with mobility around the house or outside (doctor’s appointments, walks, etc.)
- Plan and prepare meals and/or assist with feeding
- Run errands for the client or accompany them to successfully do so
- Keep the clients engaged in favorite activities and conversation
- Perform housekeeping duties and report any unusual incidents
- Act quickly and responsibly in cases of emergency
- Light housekeeping
- Live in the home with the client for extended periods of time
