About The Position
A family in Lorton, VA 22079 is seeking an experienced, compassionate, and reliable caregiver for a live-in position providing personalized care and general safety monitoring for an individual with dementia. The schedule is Monday through Friday, with the caregiver having a private room. Care begins Monday at 7:00 AM and ends Friday at 7:00 PM. The start date is as soon as possible.
Requirements
- Proven professional caregiving experience
- Comfort and ability to handle live-in care responsibilities
- Valid driver's license
- Proof of legal authorization to work in the United States
Nice To Haves
- Experience caring for individuals with dementia or cognitive impairment
- 5+ years of professional caregiving experience
- Reliable personal transportation
Responsibilities
- Provide full assistance with bathing, personal hygiene, and dressing
- Provide standby assistance with ambulation and transfers using a walker
- Supervise and redirect the member as needed for dementia-related memory and safety concerns
- Provide medication reminders and ensure compliance (family pre-fills the weekly medication organizer)
- Provide transportation to medical appointments and errands as needed
- Assist with general safety monitoring and companionship
