About The Position

Assisting Hands Home Care is seeking live-in caregivers with an active New Jersey CHHA certification who are comfortable driving clients. Driving clients to appointments, errands, shopping, and other approved destinations is an essential responsibility. Caregivers must possess a valid driver's license and be willing to use either their own properly insured vehicle or the client's vehicle. This role requires a compassionate, reliable individual committed to providing top-notch care and fostering client independence.

Requirements

Active Certified Home Health Aide (CHHA) certification in New Jersey
Valid driver's license
Willingness and ability to drive clients regularly
Ability to drive a client’s vehicle or use a reliable, properly insured personal vehicle, depending on the assignment
Demonstrated experience in providing personal care and assisting with daily living activities
Compassionate, reliable, and committed to delivering top-notch care
Strong communication skills and an ability to build positive relationships with clients and their families
Must be able to read, write, and communicate effectively in English to perform job duties
Recent physical examination and PPD (tuberculosis) test within the past 12 months
Proof of MMR (measles, mumps, and rubella) vaccination
Valid Social Security Card (SSN) and/or valid Immigration Documents (if applicable)

Responsibilities

Safely drive clients to appointments, errands, shopping, and other approved destinations
Provide personal care and assistance with activities of daily living
Offer companionship and encourage client independence
Follow care plans developed by Registered Nurses
Assist with mobility, transfers, and positioning
Provide medication reminders
Prepare meals and perform light housekeeping
Maintain accurate and timely care records
Follow all agency safety and infection-control procedures
