The purpose of a live hanger is to discern between live and dead chickens and hang the live ones on moving shackles. This is a fast-paced role where employees hang live chickens weighing 2-5 pounds on every 5th shackle. The position requires adherence to all company policies, procedures, and animal welfare laws and regulations. Employees must be able to stand for several hours, work in a dimly lit area shoulder-to-shoulder with colleagues, grasp a chicken at waist level, and hang it on a shackle at shoulder height. A key responsibility is the ability to distinguish between live and dead chickens.
