About The Position

The purpose of a live hanger is to discern between live and dead chickens and hang the live ones on moving shackles. This role requires working in a fast-paced setting, adhering to company policies and animal welfare regulations, and performing physical tasks such as standing for extended periods, grasping chickens, and hanging them on shackles.

Requirements

• Ability to work in a fast-paced setting.
• Ability to hang a live chicken weighing 2-5 pounds on every 5th shackle.
• Ability to stand for several hours at a time.
• Ability to work in a dimly lighted work area shoulder to shoulder with other employees.
• Ability to grasp a chicken at approximately waist level and hang a live chicken on a shackle at shoulder height.
• Ability to discern a live chicken from a dead chicken.
• No formal education or experience required.

Responsibilities

• Hang live chickens weighing 2-5 pounds on moving shackles, with one chicken on every 5th shackle.
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
• Comply with all animal welfare laws and regulations.
• Stand for several hours at a time.
• Work in a dimly lit area alongside other employees.
