About The Position

The Liturgical Music Director will oversee the selection and scheduling of music for all liturgies, including special feasts and Holy Days. This role involves planning and coordinating musicians, serving as a resource for faith formation events and sacramental celebrations, and collaborating with staff to ensure necessary IT equipment and arrangements are in place for parish needs. The director may also assist with music arrangements for funerals and weddings, including consultations with the pastor and families. A key responsibility includes the recruitment, training, and ongoing formation of musicians, song leaders, and other members of the music ministry.

Responsibilities

• Oversee selecting music for liturgies in consultation with the pastor.

• Oversee advance planning for Holy Week, special feasts, and Holy Day liturgies, including scheduling music and musicians.
• Serve as a resource for faith formation events, sacramental celebrations, and other faith formation needs.
• Collaborate with others, including staff, to ensure IT equipment and arrangements are in place for parish liturgy and other parish needs as requested in advance.
• Assist with arrangements for funerals and weddings, including consultation with the pastor, families for funeral music, and wedding parties for music.
• Responsible for recruitment and training of musicians, ongoing formation for musicians, song leaders, and other members of the music ministry.
• Prioritize and plan work activities, use time efficiently, plan for additional resources, set goals and objectives, and work in an organized manner.
