About The Position

Corteva Agriscience is hiring a Paralegal-Litigation. The position reports to Lead Counsel, Litigation and operates within the purview of the Litigation and Specialties Team within the Legal Function. This position will be responsible for assisting in the administration of litigation and other matters.

Requirements

  • Four-year college degree or Paralegal Certification, plus at least five (5) years of experience in general litigation in a national or global law firm or Fortune 500 company.
  • Experience in complex commercial, tort, and/or environmental litigation, with a primary focus on employee interview is preferred.
  • Extensive experience with all aspects of discovery and electronic discovery, with a primary focus on coordinating and conducting large-scale document productions.
  • Excellent people skills, positive attitude, self-motivated, and demonstrated ability to effectively communicate.
  • Demonstrated ability to prioritize workload and focus on critical priorities independently.
  • Excellent judgment and ability to quickly adapt in quickly changing environment.
  • Impeccable integrity.

Responsibilities

  • Under the direction of litigation counsel, assist with the administration of litigation and claims, including regulatory, crop injury, personal injury, intellectual property, commercial, auto accident, and human resources matters.
  • Assist in the development and implementation of electronic discovery protocols and procedures and efficiently utilize those protocols and procedures in connection with conducting document custodian interviews, retrieving data from databases, issuing and maintaining legal hold orders, and collecting, preserving, and searching data for purposes of complying with discovery requests.
  • Provide litigation-oriented legal assistance to in-house litigators as part of their cross-functional efforts to solve specific business questions and to assist in the provision of litigation-based advice to business clients.
  • Assist with efforts to achieve improvements and efficiencies on a company-wide basis, particularly in the areas of litigation support, preservation of legal privilege, and electronic discovery.
  • Prepare non-party subpoena responses, including identifying possible objections and gathering all potentially responsive documents.
  • Work with state and federal agencies concerning labor-related matters, with emphasis on document collection efforts, assistance with employee interviews, and preparation of position statements.
  • Manage the lawsuit intake and distribution process.
  • Manage with minimal assistance providing witnesses for interviews or depositions when requested by Corteva’s commercial chain partners in litigation.
  • Assist with the development of litigation budgets and management of matters within those budgets.
  • Assist with preparing reports to various internal committees regarding the status of litigation.
