About The Position

A New York City law firm seeks an experienced Temporary Litigation Paralegal for a long-term, temporary position. The position is hybrid: three days onsite and two days remote. The hourly rate is $40-$45, plus benefits.

Requirements

Thorough understanding of New York State court rules, procedures, and litigation practices.
Exceptional legal writing, drafting, attention-to-detail, and organizational abilities.
Demonstrated capacity to manage assignments independently while exercising sound judgment and requiring limited direction.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and familiarity with electronic litigation/case management platforms.
Demonstrated substantive legal writing experience.
Comfortable preparing litigation documents independently.

Experience preparing litigation documents independently, producing original work rather than relying primarily on pre-existing templates or form documents.

Responsibilities

Prepare and independently draft a wide range of litigation documents, including motions, pleadings, discovery requests and responses, subpoenas, legal correspondence, and related filings.
Provide comprehensive litigation support to attorneys handling insurance defense cases from inception through resolution.
Monitor case activity, maintain organized files, and track critical court and litigation deadlines.
Handle the coordination of court filings, document service, and other procedural requirements.
Review, organize, and maintain medical records, discovery materials, and other case-related documentation.
Assist with trial preparation and other pre-trial responsibilities as required.
Support attorneys with day-to-day case management and additional litigation-related projects as needed.
