About The Position

The Paralegal role is responsible for supporting attorneys with a range of legal and administrative matters, including court filings, legal research, and the organization, preparation, and retrieval of documents, primarily in the litigation context. The Paralegal compiles and analyzes information from a variety of reference sources and assists with case and matter support across practice areas. In addition to core litigation paralegal responsibilities, this role delivers high-level administrative and operational support to assigned attorneys, ensuring exceptional client service and accurate, timely, and high-quality work product. Workload and assignments will vary based on client needs and Firm priorities.

Requirements

  • Associate degree in Paralegal Studies; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 2–4 years of experience as a paralegal or similar role, ideally within a law firm or professional services environment.
  • Litigation experience is required.
  • Strong calendar management skills.
  • Highly organized and detailed oriented.
  • Experience with filing documents in federal and state courts.
  • Ability to multi-task, meet deadlines and work under pressure.
  • Good communication and customer service skills including the ability to communicate and provide customer services to clients, attorneys and other staff.
  • Ability to work independently on projects as needed.
  • Ability to handle confidential information.
  • Strong knowledge of MS Office Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook).

Nice To Haves

  • Knowledge of Health Care and Life Sciences law is a plus.
  • Knowledge of Billing; 3E or Elite Enterprise experience a plus.
  • Experience with Kofax and DocXTools is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

  • Manage and organize litigation documents, including filings and document productions, using platforms such as Relativity, iManage, and Filesite.
  • Draft, review, and proofread legal documents, correspondence, pleadings, and memoranda, including cite checking, Shepardizing, and Bluebook citation review.
  • Summarize depositions and prepare witness binders; assemble and organize factual materials for depositions, hearings, and trials, including managing deposition and trial exhibits.
  • Assist with all phases of discovery in civil litigation matters, including preparing and arranging service of discovery requests and subpoenas.
  • Conduct file searches and assist with document review and production of electronic and hard-copy materials.
  • Assist with Firm administrative projects.
  • Flexibility with providing support across other practice areas (including corporate, transactional (M&A), and health regulatory) and office locations as needed.
  • Manage assigned projects effectively by meeting deadlines, tracking progress, and conducting timely follow-up as needed.
  • File, organize, and maintain electronic documents, including incoming e-mail and correspondence, within the Firm’s document management system (iManage).
  • Prepare, index, and process documents for off-site storage using LegalKey software.
  • Open new matters and generate client conflict checks in accordance with Firm procedures.
  • Establish, maintain, and organize timekeeper work files, including daily and ongoing filing.
  • Provide comprehensive office operations support, including facilities and space management, coordinating conference rooms and catering coordination, welcoming guests, call routing, parking, and mail handling.
  • Maintain the highest level of confidentiality with respect to all Firm and client information, records, and files, both within and outside of the Firm.
