About The Position

Provides expert legal counsel and strategic support on complex litigation and regulatory matters, representing the company before agencies and forums, delivering legal risk training, and advising business leaders to protect corporate interests. This role involves representing the organization before regulatory agencies and administrative forums within Puerto Rico’s energy transmission and distribution sector. The Litigation Counsel will develop and deliver specialized training programs to business partners to enhance legal risk awareness and compliance, while offering proactive guidance and solutions on complex legal and regulatory matters. The position ensures compliance with all corporate policies and procedures, communicates with and manages relationships with third parties, provides expertise in legal matters, monitors compliance and process effectiveness, delivers training and guidance to stakeholders, and follows established company policies and procedures. Additionally, the role participates in storm restoration tasks and assigned drills, and performs additional tasks to support team goals and operational flexibility.

Requirements

Juris Doctor and being admitted to the practice of Law in the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico.
5 years of progressive legal experience with responsibilities aligned to the functional role.
Expertise in data collection, analysis, and interpretation to support litigation.
Experience working with documents, policies, SOP creation and implementation.
Experience leading or collaborating with small projects.
Experience as matter-expert and asset resource to provide support to internal/external clients.
Bar Admission
Valid Driver License

Responsibilities

Represent the organization before regulatory agencies and administrative forums within Puerto Rico’s energy transmission and distribution sector.
Develop and deliver specialized training programs to business partners to enhance legal risk awareness and compliance.
Offer proactive guidance and solutions on complex legal and regulatory matters.
Ensure compliance with all corporate policies and procedures.
Communicate with and manage relationships with third parties, including external counsel, government entities, and auditors.
Provide expertise in legal matters to support the development and implementation of effective solutions.
Monitor compliance and process effectiveness to ensure alignment with policies and continuous improvement.
Deliver training and guidance to stakeholders to enhance understanding and adoption of best practices.
Follow established company policies, procedures, and standards to ensure full compliance with applicable laws and industry regulations.
Participate in storm restoration tasks and assigned drills.
Perform additional tasks aligned with role expectations and qualifications to support team goals and operational flexibility.
