About The Position

We are looking for a Litigation Attorney to take ownership of a personal injury litigation docket in our Fort Worth office. This is a hands-on role for a litigator with real courtroom ambition—someone who wants to take depositions, argue motions, and try cases, and who wants to do it with senior trial lawyers in their corner rather than on an island. You will manage your cases from filing through resolution, working alongside experienced trial attorneys who will mentor you, staff trials with you, and help put you in front of juries. Skilled litigation paralegals will handle day-to-day case needs under your direction; medical records specialists, legal assistants, and closers will help carry the administrative load. Your time stays where it belongs: on the law, the facts, the depositions, and the courtroom.

Requirements

  • Texas License: Licensed to practice law in Texas and in good standing with the State Bar of Texas.
  • Experience: 3–8 years of legal experience, including at least 2 years of active litigation experience. Personal injury litigation experience (plaintiff or defense) strongly preferred.
  • Litigation Skills: Solid command of Texas civil procedure and evidence; hands-on experience drafting pleadings and discovery, taking and defending depositions, and arguing motions.
  • Courtroom Appetite: Willingness and excitement to try cases. Prior trial experience (first or second chair) is a plus, but not a requirement.
  • Organization & Attention to Detail: Ability to manage a robust docket of cases at once, meet every deadline, and keep files trial-ready.
  • Communication: Clear and persuasive in writing and on your feet—with clients, adjusters, opposing counsel, and judges—over the phone and in person.
  • Technical Proficiency: Comfortable with legal research databases, case management software, and modern litigation technology, including responsible use of artificial intelligence.
  • A Good Heart: A real desire to advocate for injured people, maximize their recoveries, and enjoy the work. Engaging, straightforward, and committed to the people we serve.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with motor vehicle, commercial trucking, or premises liability cases
  • Familiarity with medical records and injury causation
  • A record of results you're proud to talk about
  • Spanish speaking a plus

Responsibilities

  • Manage Your Litigation Docket: Own a docket of personal injury cases in litigation—developing liability, coverage, and damages theories and keeping every file moving toward settlement or trial.
  • Handle Discovery & Motion Practice: Draft pleadings, written discovery, and motions; prepare, take, and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, experts, and treating physicians.
  • Build the Medical Case: Work with medical records specialists and treating providers to understand our clients' injuries, treatment, and future care needs, and translate that into a persuasive damages models.
  • Try Cases: Second-chair and first-chair jury trials, argue hearings and dispositive motions, and present at mediations when carriers refuse to pay full value.
  • Drive Settlement: Value cases, prepare demand packages, and negotiate directly with adjusters and defense counsel before and during mediation to maximize recovery for your clients.
  • Lead Your Team: Direct and support your assigned litigation paralegals and assistants, setting the standard for excellence, accountability, and collaboration.
  • Serve as Client Advocate: Be the trusted voice for clients at the hardest moments of their lives—keeping them informed and advising them on strategy, progress, and settlement/trial decisions with clarity and compassion.
  • Grow as a Trial Lawyer: Learn from senior trial attorneys, take on increasing trial responsibility, and contribute your own ideas to how we litigate across Texas.
