About The Position

Buffalo Biodiesel is in growth mode and currently seeking a Litigation Attorney to join our fast-growing team! Buffalo Biodiesel is a rapidly expanding renewable energy company dedicated to promoting a cleaner, greener future. Through the collection and recycling of used cooking oil, we help businesses reduce waste while producing sustainable, environmentally responsible fuel solutions. As our operations continue to grow across multiple states, we are expanding our legal department to support our dynamic legal department. We are seeking a motivated Litigation Attorney with 4–6 years of civil litigation experience who is eager to take ownership of sophisticated, high-impact matters in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment. Our litigation portfolio includes commercial disputes, contract enforcement, business torts, unfair competition, and other complex civil matters. Buffalo Biodiesel is involved in both state and federal litigation. Requirements

  • J.D. from an accredited law school and admission to practice in at least one U.S. jurisdiction.
  • 4–7 years of civil litigation experience.
  • Strong legal research, writing, and oral advocacy skills.
  • Experience handling matters in federal court strongly preferred.
  • Familiarity with commercial litigation and business disputes.
  • Experience with or exposure to antitrust law is highly desirable.
  • Working knowledge of electronic discovery (e-discovery), including document review platforms, preservation obligations, and discovery strategy.
  • Ability to independently manage a litigation docket while collaborating effectively with attorneys, executives, and business personnel.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.

Responsibilities

  • Manage litigation matters from inception through trial and appeal.
  • Draft pleadings, motions, briefs, discovery requests, and other court filings.
  • Conduct legal research and prepare strategic analyses.
  • Coordinate and oversee e-discovery, document collection, and production.
  • Take and defend depositions and prepare witnesses.
  • Advise company leadership on litigation strategy, risk assessment, and legal developments.
  • Assist with internal investigations and preservation of evidence.
  • Support the company's continued growth through proactive legal counseling and enforcement of its contractual and business rights.
