About The Position

MG+M The Law Firm (MG+M) is currently hiring Associate Attorneys with 2+ years of defense litigation experience to join one of the following practice groups: General Liability or Toxic Tort Litigation. MG+M is a nationally renowned litigation law firm concentrating on complex civil matters. The firm's expertise is diverse but focused in the areas of toxic tort, complex product liability, local government, general liability, and commercial litigation. The firm approaches litigation as a unified team, integrating efforts with those of its clients to advance their interests wherever they do business, with the goal of delivering optimal results at the best possible value. Associates will work closely with senior lawyers and clients on challenging work in an entrepreneurial and collegial environment.

Requirements

• A minimum of 2+ years of defense litigation experience.
• Juris Doctor from an accredited law school.
• Must be admitted to practice in the state of California.
• Experience with motion practice and depositions.
• Experience taking lead in plaintiff and expert depositions.
• Capable of independent work.
• Work in an organized and efficient manner.
• Superior research and writing skills.
• Ability to multi-task.
• Ability to analyze complex matters.

Nice To Haves

• Experience in General Liability or Product Liability
• Experience in Complex Litigation, Toxic Tort Liability, or Environmental Liability

Responsibilities

• Handle local and national accounts throughout the state of California.
• Independently manage a litigation caseload
• Conduct depositions
• Prepare witnesses for deposition and trial
• Review and analyze discovery requests
• Prepare and respond to discovery requests, pleadings, and motions
• Trial preparation and support
• Maintain accurate time records
