This role focuses on investigating and defending first- and third-party insurance claims across a range of matters, with a strong emphasis on collaboration, rigorous analysis, and informed advocacy. Requirements

• Juris Doctor (JD) from an ABA-accredited law school
• Active Colorado Bar admission (or eligibility for admission with admission within a reasonable timelines)
• 3+ years of civil litigation experience within a law firm
• Demonstrated experience in insurance defense, personal injury, or insurance coverage matters
• Strong research, writing, and analytical skills; ability to craft persuasive motions and legal opinions
• Excellent oral advocacy, negotiation, and communication skills
• Detail-oriented, highly organized, and able to manage multiple matters simultaneously
• Local candidates based in Denver, Colorado; this is a 100% onsite role with no relocation provided

Responsibilities

• Investigate and defend first- and third-party insurance claims, including personal injury, construction, premises liability, coverage disputes, and bad faith matters
• Manage and take depositions, including preparing witnesses and developing deposition strategy
• Draft dispositive motions, memoranda, and comprehensive coverage opinions
• Attend court hearings, conduct examinations under oath, and engage in settlement negotiations as appropriate
• Collaborate with in-house counsel, claims professionals, and clients to develop defense strategy and trial readiness
• Analyze complex insurance coverage issues, policy language, and applicable law to support defense or dispute resolution
• Maintain meticulous case files, track deadlines, and ensure adherence to all regulatory and firm standards
• Mentor junior associates and contribute to professional development initiatives as needed
