NJ Barred Litigation Associate Attorney - Remote Position
About The Position
MOODK Law is a dynamic firm on the forefront of insurance defense litigation, founded in 1986. We represent clients in a variety of matters involving casualty, professional liability, labor law, construction defect, and coverage. With offices across multiple states, we offer a regional approach to litigation needs. We are seeking experienced litigators to fill multiple positions representing our New Jersey clients. This is a full-time position offering a competitive salary, a comprehensive benefits package, and a flexible work environment (remote or hybrid allowed, except for court-mandated appearances). This role provides a unique opportunity for a motivated lawyer to counsel clients daily on diverse and challenging legal issues, gaining hands-on experience from day one and exposure to different fields of litigation.
Requirements
- Must be barred in NJ.
- Familiarity with NJ law and procedure required.
- Previous experience required, preferably in civil litigation.
- Excellent writing and organizational skills, and comfortable working in a fast paced and demanding environment.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Proficient in Lexis software
Nice To Haves
- Experience drafting discovery, taking lead on depositions and arguing motions is preferred.
Responsibilities
- Represent clients in all phases of litigation from initiation to expert discovery in matters involving professional liability or labor and employment.
- Attend court appearances, hearings, depositions and case management conferences.
- Conduct complex legal research and discovery investigations.
- Draft discovery requests and responses, motions, case evaluation summaries, court orders, settlement agreements, affidavits, pleadings, motions, and legal memoranda.
- Review discovery responses, depositions and prepare summaries and litigation update reports.
- Negotiate with opposing counsel to settle claims.
- Communicate closely with clients during the course of litigation to provide legal analysis, status reports and advice.
