About The Position

AmeriCorps Nextcelerate is seeking passionate individuals to deliver high-impact literacy tutoring to K-3 students in Richmond Public Schools elementary schools. This paid service opportunity through Virginia Learns offers hands-on experience in local schools and aims to help close the literacy achievement gap affecting early readers.

Requirements

• Passion for education
• Willingness to gain hands-on experience in local schools
• Commitment to delivering high-impact literacy tutoring to K-3 students
• Ability to work within Richmond Public Schools elementary schools during the school day

Responsibilities

• Tutor one-on-one or small groups of early readers using research-backed methods
• Support students throughout the school year within local elementary schools during the school day
• Help close the literacy achievement gap affecting students
