This role supports statewide literacy initiatives by coordinating registration, scheduling, communication, and participant assistance for professional learning opportunities; managing stipend and micro‑credential processes; and maintaining organized participation and completion records for reporting and compliance. The Specialist reviews Strong Readers submissions, oversees documentation for the first‑grade at‑home reading program, and manages data and reporting for HEROES Literacy Instructional Team initiatives. This role also monitors required field reports and provides logistical and administrative support to literacy field staff, including assistance with travel claims, rentals, and related operational needs. This role requires a consistent, in-person presence at the designated workplace in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, and does not offer remote, telecommuting, or hybrid options.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field [official transcripts required upon hire]
  • Two years of experience supporting literacy programs, educator training, school-based literacy work, or other PK–12 instructional support
  • Or an equivalent combination of education and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.
  • Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis without sponsorship now or in the future.
  • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check.
  • Must possess a valid driver’s license from a U.S. state or territory to perform necessary job-related travel.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate registration, scheduling, communication, and participant support for statewide literacy professional learning opportunities funded through state literacy initiatives, including LETRS, statewide screener training, OEQA academies, and other OSDE-sponsored literacy programs.
  • Manage processes related to literacy professional development stipends and micro-credentials, including documentation collection, participant verification, tracking systems, and coordination of payment requests.
  • Maintain organized statewide records of literacy professional learning participation and completion data for required reporting, compliance monitoring, and program documentation.
  • Review and monitor Strong Readers compliance submissions from elementary schools, including required literacy reports, submission timelines, and expenditure documentation aligned with OCAS coding requirements.
  • Coordinate collection and organization of data related to the statewide first-grade at-home reading program, including participation records, distribution tracking, and required program documentation.
  • Collect, organize, and maintain HEROES Literacy Instructional Team implementation data and required reports using established organizational systems and reporting formats to support project managers and program leadership.
  • Monitor completion and submission of required field reports and documentation from HEROES literacy staff to ensure timely and accurate reporting across statewide literacy initiatives.
  • Provide logistical and administrative support to literacy field staff related to travel claims, rental requests, and other operational processes in coordination with the literacy office administrative assistant.
