About The Position

Provides guidance to Mayo Collaborative Services (MCS) Operations teams, MCS Marketing, Corporate Development, Information Technology (IT), Mayo Practice, external performing laboratories for services related to external lab testing and file build. Maintains electronic Referral Test Catalog and MCS related fields in Laboratory Test Catalog (LTC). Responsible for reviewing test changes from external labs, fee schedule updates, initiating change control to downstream systems and performing file definition in the Laboratory Information System (LIS) and related MCS systems. Works with Department of Laboratory Medicine & Pathology (DLMP) laboratories and MCS Operations teams, identifying the need for rules that will direct the specimen handling. Works with external laboratories to perform set up, test definition within the LIS, collaborates internally and with external labs to resolve problems.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or science and 2 years’ laboratory related experience, or Associates degree and 4 years’ laboratory related experience, or in lieu of an Associates or Bachelor’s degree, 8 years of laboratory related experience is required.
  • Prior experience in file definition and change control in LIS (Laboratory Information Systems).
  • Experience contacting and working with resources outside of Mayo Clinic.
  • Two year commitment to this role.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with the implementation and configuration of Laboratory Information Systems or a related laboratory or information management (IM) field.
