About The Position

Day Kimball Health is hiring for a LIS Analyst to join our Laboratory Department in Putnam, CT! This role is a vital member of a dynamic team responsible for providing technical support for LIS applications, interfaces, and related systems. The position involves building, testing, maintaining, and troubleshooting LIS instrumentation and reference laboratory interfaces, as well as LIS modules and applications. The LIS Analyst will also coordinate, test, and implement system upgrades and enhancements, administer and troubleshoot Sunquest LIS and related systems, perform patient billing reconciliation, and create and maintain Crystal Reports. Additionally, the role requires developing and maintaining operational documentation, collaborating with vendors and internal teams on projects, participating in project planning and implementation, and providing excellent customer service and technical support. Maintaining current knowledge of emerging technologies and industry best practices is also expected.

Requirements

  • 1 - 3 years of experience in a LIS support role required.
  • 4 - 6 years of working in the Information Technology industry, including direct evidentiary talents and responsibilities for supporting laboratory information systems, associated applications and, workstations.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Knowledge of LIS applications, interfaces, and system support processes.
  • Proficiency with Sunquest LIS or similar laboratory information systems.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Windows operating systems.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to present technical information, project updates, and recommendations to leadership and cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to work independently and prioritize competing responsibilities.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related clinical field preferred.
  • Background in Sunquest preferred.
  • Experience with HIS preferred.
  • 4 – 6 years of experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for LIS applications, interfaces, and related systems.
  • Build, test, maintain, and troubleshoot LIS instrumentation interfaces, reference laboratory interfaces, and LIS modules and applications.
  • Coordinate, test, and implement LIS system upgrades and enhancements.
  • Administer and troubleshoot Sunquest LIS and related systems.
  • Perform patient billing reconciliation accurately and timely.
  • Create and maintain Crystal Reports within the LIS environment.
  • Develop and maintain operational documentation, procedures, and user policies.
  • Collaborate with vendors, laboratory staff, IT teams, and leadership on projects and system improvements.
  • Participate in project planning, implementation, testing, and support activities.
  • Provide excellent customer service and technical support.
  • Maintain current knowledge of emerging technologies and industry best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
