Liquor Store Associate - PT (Westbank)
About The Position
Otter Co-op is seeking a Part-Time Liquor Store Associate for their Angry Otter Liquor store in Westbank, West Kelowna, BC. Otter Co-op has been serving communities since 1922 and is a locally owned, community-minded organization with over 600 team members. They operate various businesses including food and pharmacy stores, liquor stores, a feed mill, petroleum facilities, a pub, and gas station/convenience stores. This role reports to the Liquor Store Manager and is responsible for providing excellent customer service, processing transactions, stocking shelves, receiving deliveries, maintaining store cleanliness, promoting sales, and contributing to the company's core values.
Requirements
- Serving it Right license is required
- Ability to physically lift, push, pull up to 50 lbs. on a regular basis and stand for full 8 hour shift
- Must be committed to a SAFE working environment
- Must have reliable transportation has bus is not always reliable for all shifts
- MUST be over 19 years of age to be considered
- MUST have open availability and able to work a variety of shifts that include mornings, afternoons, and late evenings
Nice To Haves
- Liquor retail experience is preferred
- Enjoy working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment
- Team player with strong communication skills
- Problem solver and quick learner
- WSET 1 accreditation is an asset
Responsibilities
- Provide excellent customer service to guests in a courteous, efficient manner
- Process register transactions, refunds, and returns, activate gift cards
- Ensure register drawer is balanced at the end of shift following company procedures
- Stock, face, and rotate products on the shelves
- Receive, check, and put away deliveries
- Keep store and storage areas clean and organized
- Utilize product knowledge to promote sales
- Contribute to the Team in living the Corporate Values of Integrity, Community and Excellence
- Perform other duties as assigned
