About The Position

BJ's Wholesale Club is seeking a dedicated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Liquor Store Associate. In this role, you will be responsible for processing member purchases, including liquor, lottery, and tobacco sales, in a courteous and friendly manner. You will scan merchandise, accept various forms of payment, adhere to state age requirements, follow asset protection guidelines, and maintain the cleanliness and stocking of the liquor store. Requirements

• At least 18 years of age.
• Successful completion of all required training and/or certifications.

Nice To Haves

• Basic math skills.
• Prior cashier experience.

Responsibilities

• Process member purchases including liquor, lottery and tobacco sales in a courteous and friendly manner.
• Scan merchandise and accept various forms of payments.
• Adhere to state age requirements for liquor, lottery, and tobacco sales.
• Follow asset protection guidelines.
• Merchandise and stock product displays and locations.
• Maintain the overall cleanliness of the liquor store.
• Provide a high level of customer service to members.
• Answer incoming phone calls and product inquiries from members.
• Scan merchandise through a point-of-sale system to ensure accurate inventory counts and accurate purchase totals.
• Collect payments via cash, check, or other charge payments from members.
• Issue receipts and change due to members.
• Run lottery machine and sell scratch-off tickets.
• Process and collect payment for lottery ticket sales.
• Stay up-to-date on all merchandise promotions, advertisements, and product information.
• Discount purchases by scanning and redeeming coupons.
• Maintain the cleanliness of the register area and liquor store.
• Assist in general club housekeeping when necessary.
• Recover / pull forward merchandise throughout the day.
• Stock shelves from pallets or lay down articles as needed.
• Conduct daily inventory counts according to asset protection guidelines and place asset protection devices on high shrink merchandise as needed.
• Maintain all club policies and procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned, including working in other departments as needed.
