About The Position

Liquor Clerks are responsible for stocking, straightening, and cleaning the liquor store, assisting customers, checking purchaser age, and ringing up orders. This role operates within a liquor store that has a separate entrance and gated access. The position involves maintaining merchandising standards, rotating stock, ensuring accurate signage, and using tools like box knives and manual pallet jacks. Customer service is a key component, including answering phones, providing product information, verifying legal purchase age for alcohol and tobacco, and processing various payment methods. Additionally, the role includes cleaning the store, stocking supplies, managing trash, and operating equipment such as trash compactors and cardboard balers. Assistance in other departments may be required as needed.

  • Ability to operate cash register, hand-held/tabletop scanners, conveyor belt, carts, flatbeds, trash compactor, and cardboard baler.
  • Ability to assist in other departments.
  • High School Diploma or GED preferred.
  • Age and certification as required by local law.
  • Training as required by local law.
  • Reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work.

Responsibilities

  • Write lists of products to be brought from storage.
  • Provide prompt and courteous customer service.
  • Answer phones and direct customers.
  • Clean the liquor store by sweeping, mopping, spraying, wiping, and dusting.
  • Stock supplies, empty trash, and operate trash compactor and cardboard baler.
  • Operate cash register, scanners, conveyor belt, carts, flatbeds, trash compactor, and cardboard baler.
  • Assist in other departments of the store as necessary.
  • Perform other functions as necessary or assigned.
