About The Position

USAA is seeking a Liquidity Strategy Analyst (Mid-Level) to join their Liquidity Management team. This role involves developing, implementing, and monitoring liquidity management strategies for the enterprise and specifically for banking operations. The analyst will utilize their knowledge of the enterprise, financial services industry, regulatory requirements, rating agency requirements, risk management, and financial planning. The position provides analysis and support for complex liquidity and financial initiatives, ensuring USAA's ongoing financial strength. Responsibilities include preparing liquidity analysis and reporting for governance committees, senior management, regulatory bodies, and the USAA Board of Directors, while ensuring compliance with all activities within regulatory policies and processes. The role offers a flexible work environment requiring 4 days in the office per week and can be based in San Antonio, TX, or Charlotte, NC. Relocation assistance is not provided.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree; OR 4 years of related experience (in addition to the minimum years of experience required) may be substituted in lieu of degree.
  • 4 years of related experience in Finance, Risk Management, Treasury, Capital and Liquidity Management and/or Accounting.
  • Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office products including Excel.
  • Proven ability to effectively influence and build cross-functional relationships with employees of various levels throughout the organization.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to create and present executive-level presentations.
  • Ability to effectively work with both internal and external partners.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in Liquidity Management within the financial services industry, specifically the banking industry
  • Strategic and Critical Thinking – Ability to connect financial metrics to business strategy and risk appetite while identifying trends, anomalies, and actionable insights

Responsibilities

  • Applies proficient functional knowledge to produce complex work deliverables in support of strategies, tools and methodologies to model, measure, monitor and assess capital and liquidity adequacy across the enterprise including insurance, investment and banking subsidiaries.
  • Executes the preparation of liquidity policies and comprehensive contingency funding plans.
  • Applies proficient functional knowledge to produce complex work deliverables in support of balance sheet analysis integrating capital, liquidity, cash and investment strategies.
  • Contributes work deliverables and makes recommendations in support the efficient deployment of liquidity across the enterprise, including insurance, investment and banking lines of business, to meet multiple regulatory, rating agency and internal management objectives.
  • Applies proficient functional knowledge and provides analysis that supports the efficient management of cash positions for the enterprise, insurance, investment and banking lines of business.
  • Advises key stakeholders on liquidity management issues according to industry best practices.
  • Conducts analysis and provides recommendations to senior analysts and management for submission to governance committees if a risk tolerance is exceeded.
  • Contributes to Treasury initiatives in bank and enterprise stress test planning and execution.
  • Evaluates stress scenario results and the establishment of contingency plans.
  • Analyzes stress scenario impacts to the USAA Consolidated/P&C/Bank/Life, Contingency Funding Plans and associated liquidity metrics.
  • Key contributor in the preparation of key liquidity plans, metrics, analysis and reports to governance committees, senior management, regulatory bodies and the USAA Board of Directors.
  • Primary contributor to meet daily cash and liquidity reporting requirements.
  • Ensures risks associated with business activities are effectively identified, measured, monitored, and controlled in accordance with risk and compliance policies and procedures.
