About The Position

The Liquid Packaging Lead is responsible for setting up and organizing production work, helping resolve production issues, and ensuring the production team completes its responsibilities in a timely manner. The Lead directs and observes operators, verifies product quality, monitors and tracks key performance metrics, and checks counts and data for accurate reporting. The role also leads and trains staff, operates liquid packaging equipment, supports equipment maintenance, and helps ensure production goals, quality standards, safety policies, and cGMP requirements are met.

Requirements

At least 2 years of experience in a Production Operator position or a job with similar responsibilities.
High school diploma or GED equivalence.
Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods.
Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English to perform job duties, follow safety procedures and work instructions, and communicate with supervisors and manufacturing personnel.
Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Effective verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and resolve issues.
Strong organizational, time-management, and mathematical skills.
Demonstrated leadership potential, including willingness to assume additional responsibilities and participate in training and development opportunities.
Commitment to continuous learning, including company-sponsored training, regulatory requirements, and safety policies.

Responsibilities

Lead, train, and coach production staff to meet manufacturing requirements.
Organize operators’ daily responsibilities.
Act as the department communicator during status meetings, management updates, and staff shift changes.
Track and report daily production metrics to support production timelines and goals.
Set up and operate liquid packaging equipment, including piston fillers, a monobloc filler, a drum agitator, a label machine, a tape machine, and laser encoders with software.
Ensure equipment and machinery are properly maintained and promptly repaired; communicate with management and maintenance as needed.
Assist with monthly inventories.
Ensure production quotas and quality standards are met or exceeded.
Ensure products and team personnel comply with professional standards and cGMP requirements.
Enforce safety policies and procedures.
Communicate effectively and respectfully to maintain an inviting, friendly, and safe teamwork environment.
Sign off on verifications, packets, logs, and other documentation.
Perform other related duties as assigned by the Production Manager and/or Plant Manager.
