About The Position

This role is for a Filling Equipment Operator responsible for various tasks including operating forklift, tote filler, bag in box, carton filler, and labeling equipment. The operator will perform duties related to the documentation of production and storage of processing and packaging materials, transfer of materials to the plant floor, and accountability for raw material and finished goods inventories, supplies, and equipment. Key responsibilities include packaging liquid eggs and egg products, operating filling equipment, proper labeling, ensuring finished product quality, and compliance with regulatory guidelines. The role also involves sanitation and minor maintenance of packaging and labeling equipment, maintaining a clean work area, and ensuring machinery and building readiness. The position requires the ability to occasionally lift 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure all sanitation procedures are complete and ready for production.
  • Stock and sort product for packaging or filling and replenish packaging supplies.
  • Stop or reset machines when malfunctions occur, clear machine jams, and report malfunctions to the manager.
  • Inspect and remove defective packaging material.
  • Start machine by engaging controls.
  • Package product in the form in which it will be sent out.
  • Record all information per training.
  • Attach identification labels to finished packaged items.
  • Clean packaging containers and prepare for product packing.
  • Perform quality activities, training sessions, and employee activity teams when needed.
  • Take appropriate action to ensure the integrity and sustained certification of the SQF system.
  • Report and take any necessary action to prevent food safety and food quality problems from occurring.
  • Follow and enforce procedures outlined in the Food Safety Plan and the Food Quality Plan and any other programs that support the SQF system and other 3rd party audits.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Follow all Safety and Bio-Security Procedures.
  • Ensure that all care is provided with respect to customer, client, and co-workers’ rights.
  • Ensure a safe and clean work environment.
  • Maintain confidentiality.
  • Adhere to work schedules in completing and performing assigned tasks.
