About The Position

Our Chemours™ Discovery Hub in Newark, DE, is seeking a Data Center Cooling Principal Engineer for the Technology function within the Thermal & Specialty Solutions group. This role focuses on developing next-generation, low-Global Warming Potential (GWP) technologies for thermal management, including heat transfer fluids for various cooling systems. The technology organization comprises experts in fluorine, catalysis, process development, engineering, analytical and formulation science, and application development. This key role will support R&D programs within the Liquid Cooling Product Development team, reporting to the Product Growth Manager, with a specific focus on two-phase cooling applications such as immersion cooling and direct-for-chip for data center applications. While software programming skills are valuable, this is not a programming position. The role is based at the Chemours™ Discovery Hub in Newark, DE.

Requirements

  • BS in Mechanical, Computer or Electrical Engineering or Material Science.
  • At least 5 years (10+ years preferred) of relevant work experience in data center cooling technologies, preferably liquid cooling technologies.
  • Demonstrated understanding of data center operations and liquid cooling for data centers.
  • Good interpersonal and written/oral communication skills, excellent presentation skills, and the ability to work well with all levels in the organization.
  • Ability to plan, prioritize and manage multiple, complex, time-sensitive projects.
  • Ability to work in a team environment with a high degree of initiative, independence and self-motivation with flexibility to monitor and move projects forward quickly and safely.

Responsibilities

  • Lead projects and activities related to two-phase liquid cooling in data centers and other applications to meet strategic growth objectives.
  • Design and lead execution of experiments in a lab environment and field trials for data center cooling.
  • Develop, collaborate and maintain good relationships with value chain partners, end-users, academia/universities, national labs and industry organizations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams within the organization, customers and partners.
  • Knowledge or the desire to learn fluorochemical science and related application technologies.
  • Travel 10-25% of time to customers and partners.
